Finding Beauty

4/19/24

One of the things I love most about traveling On The Rhoda is the incredible beauty we encounter in all kinds of places. Last evening, at our campsite, we were chatting with Julia and Bill, a lovely couple from Montana. I looked up at the sky. This is what I saw.

It was as unexpected as it was breathtaking…the perfect warm up for today’s drive through Southern Utah.

This part of the Beehive state is world famous for its unique beauty. I’ll never forget our first time driving through Utah enroute to our daughter and son in law who live in CA.

We’ve done the drive more than a dozen times and it is always astounding.

We chose Moab, UT- home to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks- for our inaugural trip with our first Rhoda.  We fell in love with the area. It’s unlike any place we’d ever seen. In fact, much of southern Utah looks like the surface of another planet.

Once again, today’s drive featured the incredible scenery we’ve come to expect from Southern Utah.

On the way to our campground midway between Bryce & Zion National Parks, we came across the boyhood home of Butch Cassidy. We learned two important things...Butch grew up in a rather humble abode and he was much more handsome in the movie than he was in real life.

Tomorrow morning we're going horseback riding in Bryce National Park. I'll tell you all about it in my next post.
